A couple of thoughts come to mind.

10 trips per day seems excessive. At the most I do 4. I am going to check with a traffic consultant that I work with to understand the validity of their calculation method. Note that I confirmed the 10 trips per day calculation. It is actually slightly higher than the standard (1/2 a trip per day). Interesting though. It appears that our neighborhood demographics don’t necessarily fall into this standard calculation. I would imagine that a typical suburban neighborhood could have more trips per day. It seems to me that most people go to work and come home. Or maybe run to the store. Also, since there is not a lot of close stores, most people do their errands at once on certain days per week. This would limit the trips per day. The trip counts tell me that there is not a lot of households with more than 2 drivers. Probably worth further discussion with the traffic people.

We should probably understand the cost of adding speed bumps.

Should the county provide sidewalks?

The speeding should be stopped whether they are residents or not.

Another cheaper option than speed bumps would be stop signs. These cost roughly $350 each to supply and install. Placing them along 206th at the intersections plus a couple of other locations would not be too expensive. ($4,000).

It is not safe to walk on 206th. Due to the lack of sidewalks and speeds.

Adding .9% tax to the area is a lot for bus service that you will have to transfer in another town to actually get somewhere. When you live on the edges of bus service you spend a lot of time on buses. You will still have to drive to a park and ride as bus service will not be on every street. The convenience is just not there yet.

Anyone's thoughts?

Sources tell me that the hall was about 2/3 full. While the focus was to be on rural planning, there is a great deal of frustration with the urban/rural buffers. The county speakers and the residents both expressed concern with Maltby's unique situation with full county rural with urban so close together.

_________________

I have some clarifications for you.

1) We anticipate that the facility will be completed in the first quarter of 2011.

2) Your understanding of a greenwaste reload facility is correct. Greenwaste will be transferred into a larger vehicle and then sent to a local composting facility. Greenwaste will not be stored at the facility for any extended period of time. All greenwaste will be transferred out of the facility on the same day that it comes in. This facility will replace our greenwaste reload facility in Woodinville.

3) We estimate that their will be 130 trucks homed at the new Maltby facility. These trucks will be solid waste, recycle and yard waste collection vehicles.
