    High Speed Internet

    Hello everyone-

I just moved into the Maltby area and am very disappointed with the lack of High Speed internet options available in my area.  I am in an area that is serviced by 'BroadStripe' Cable, and their internet is very pricey, very slow and unreliable.  I know over in Maltby (by the Cafe) they have an option of Comcast and Verizon DSL but my area (across 522, up by the fire station) doesn't.  I have talked to all the other companies that may offer service in the area and basically get told, that the city / county has to decide to add support for these companies to come into this area.  Anyone know who we can talk to in the county to get more companies out here?  As it looks like Broadstripe has gone Chapter 11 and may not be around much longer?

You said "across 522".  Does that mean in the Echo Lake area?

Clearview area here and getting 3.0 MB/sec down and 0.76 MB/sec up.  Hoping that Verizon will bring the Fios service in the area.

Not much else to add except that our housing density (low, the way we like it :-) is not a great economic incentive to broadband providers.
