FAA considering commercial flights from Paine Field - detrimental to Maltby peace and quiet

The FAA is again considering allowing commercial flights to come and go from Paine Field. There is one more public comment night in this regard which can be located by googling the topic. I am requesting that people in our community write to Brian Sullivan, Dave Somers and the other Snohomish Council representatives and relay our concerns. Noise from these activities will not be limited to the direct area of the airport. These flights going East and South will probably come over our area. They will be going out early in the morning. We need to let the Councilmen know that this is unacceptable and that Sea-Tac should be the airport for commercial aviation activities. Please realize that once they let these activities in the door they will only expand them in the future. What looks like small potatoes now will have the opportunity to grow substantially and affect you and our community.

There should be little impact on the Maltby area.  The main runway runs north and south, and the FAA has a "keep 'em high" policy which does not allow large aircraft to descend to low altitude until they are on final approach.  They would most likely be powered down on descent from 10K feet over our area and present little noise.  I would not, however, want to live immediately north or south of Paine "PAIN" field where the airplanes would be powered up during approach.
