There was a break in last Friday night at about 10 PM at a residence in The Summit on 76th Street. It was obviously kids because it appeared that they had no idea what they were doing. The alarm caught them the minute they entered and set off a motion detector and they were gone by the time police arrived. They tried to silence the alarm and tore the thermostat off the wall thinking it was the alarm. They were not inside long, but needed a trophy for all of their efforts, so they took a "large bronze wire rooster" decoration from the kitchen window area where they had used a crow bar to pry open the window to gain entrance. Many of the neighbors around here are really mad and I'm afraid that someone is going to get shot. If any parent sees a bronze rooster in their kids room, they will know where it came from. Stay alert.
